It's been a minute since the Forest Practices Board voted to impose excessive new Type Np stream buffers. How is the reality hitting you?

Landowners large and small across Western Washington are grappling with the challenge of continuing to perform critical stewardship now that Type Np is real. Responsible people in rural communities are also thinking about how the rule endangers benefits they gather from these managed lands such as catastrophic fire prevention and habitat protection, not to mention the economic heartbeat of harvest rotations that occur on a sustainable schedule.

We invite landowners or anyone connected to the benefits of managed forestland to share how you’re reacting and responding to Type Np. It’s good to let it out.

If you offer us your thoughts here, we may reach out to discuss ways your story could help others understand how harmful Type Np will be, but we will never share your story without permission.

In your own words, please share your concerns about the environmental, economic and social fallout from this rule. What does the community lose when too many burdens are stacked on the shoulders of its stewards? Landowners: Are there stewardship achievements in which you take special pride?
If you have a photos that illustrate the harmful impacts, please share them here.
